Group Visits

There’s lots to see and do at Gunnersbury so you can create an experience that suits your group.

Some ideas for your day...

Visit the museum

Top of many groups’ list is a visit to our free new museum.

Our rich collection, combined with modern displays and the latest technology, brings to life the story of Ealing, Hounslow and the surrounding area. Before becoming a museum, the elegant mansion was the family home of the Rothschild family. The grand entertaining rooms and state-of-the-art Victorian kitchens provide an insight into life on the estate for both its former owners and their servants.

There are also special exhibitions related to the estate that change through the year.

Explore the park

Outside in the parkland you’ll find further evidence of the extravagant lifestyle of the Rothschilds and their predecessors. Carefully designed garden features such as the Horseshoe Pond, Orangery and Temple create a stately landscape that complements the mansion. Of course, there are plenty of seasonal highlights too from spring bulbs to summer roses and wildflowers.

Enjoy some refreshments

To complete your day out, we have several pop up options providing ice cream,  hot beverages, or something a bit stronger!

Travel options

Gunnersbury is located within easy reach of tube (Piccadilly and District Lines) , bus and train lines and just off the M4/A4. If you’re travelling by car or minibus, there’s a reasonably priced car park onsite.

Unfortunately, coaches are unable to access the estate but can drop off at the bus stop just outside on Pope’s Lane.

Good to know

On arrival, our team will give a brief introductory talk that sets the scene for your visit and will help you find your way around. We offer free guided tours on Tuesdays and Sundays, 11am - 12pm & 2 - 3pm. We suggest you allow 2-3 hours if you are planning to visit the museum and grounds and still have time for a cup of tea!

In order to help manage the flow of groups through the museum we ask that you book in advance. This also means we can advise if any spaces may be closed on the proposed date of your visit. Our team would be delighted to help you plan your visit.
