Following on from last year's launch we invited you to choose a project to benefit the local community. This project will be funded from the profits of the summer park events.
Last year the local community voted to plant new hedgerows to bring new habitats to the park. This year the project chosen by our local communities is a travel bursary scheme to enable Ealing and Hounslow-based schools to access our outstanding Education programme.
In a cost of living crisis, and with transport costs rising, schools further away from Gunnersbury are struggling to bring classes out to take part in educational workshops. This means that children are missing out on opportunities to learn outside the classroom, spark their curiosity and develop new skills.
Thanks to the Community Choice initiative, Gunnersbury has allocated £10,000 to a new travel bursary for schools which will be open for applications from April 2024. This fund is only available to schools in Ealing and Hounslow boroughs that are able to demonstrate a high percentage of children accessing Free School Meals. Further details will be announced prior to the bursary launch in April.
