Grass Fire Update

On 21 July, 2026 a small grass fire was reported at the park shortly after 1pm after being spotted by a vigilant member of the public.

Three fire engines attended the scene, and thanks to the response of the London Fire Brigade, the fire was quickly brought under control. Thankfully, it was caught early, meaning the damage was minimal, and no one was injured.

As a precaution, we have already taken additional steps to reduce the risk of future incidents fire breaks have been cut, and we have arranged for the grass behind the homes on Lionel Road North and Popes Lane to be cut to reduce the risk of any potential fire spreading.

We would like to say a thank you to the member of the public who raised the alarm so quickly. The park remains open, and we will continue to do everything we can to keep it safe for everyone. You can play your part by ensuring that any cigarettes are disposed of correctly and remembering that there are no BBQs allowed at Gunnersbury Park. Thank you for your continued support.
