Rough Runner comes to Gunnersbury Park
Gunnersbury Estate (2026) CIC is delighted to announce that we will be welcoming Rough Runner to Gunnersbury Park in autumn 2020 for a 10K run.
Rough Runner is a running event featuring obstacles inspired by TV shows such as Total Wipeout, Gladiators and Ninja Warrior. They currently operate in sites across England, including at Morden Park and Finsbury Park, and their runners have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds each year for charity. Rough Runner will also feature a kid’s course, so all the family can get involved. Planning consent will be sought for the isolated temporary structures used in this event; the obstacles and route will be sympathetic to the park’s infrastructure, natural assets and visitors.
Gunnersbury Park has played host to an annual 10K run for a number of years, as well as the weekly parkrun. Rough Runner represents an evolution of this 10K and a celebration of running in the park. The opening of the new Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub in early 2020 will also increase the wealth of sport and physical activity options available in the park, for all ages.
The revenue generated by this run will be put back into maintaining and improving the park.
