Places & Traces Embroidery Workshop

Saturday 10 November

In this workshop, inspired by the Fabric of Faith exhibition, we will explore places of meaning through embroidery and other creative textile activities.

These will range from the local to the global, and you can choose a design to embroider from a map of a place that your family has links with, to a local landmark or faith place that means something to do. If you are a beginner, we will show you how to use simple stitches to embroider your design. If you are more experienced, get creative and share your skills!
We will also have activities for children including stitching your own prayer card or postcard and decorating images of local faith places.
Materials will be provided. Skill level: all abilities, beginners and more experienced stitchers welcome.
The workshop will be led by artists and researchers Katy Beinart and Nazneen Ahmed.
