Jane Austen & the King of Bling

Tuesday 4 June

Author Catherine Curzon delves into the sometimes shocking, always scandalous private life of ‘the first gentleman of England’ George IV. This engaging talk explores this saucy Sovereign as a man who championed Jane Austen and her work, although the author boldly declared she hated him even after she was his honoured guest at London’s most prestigious address. Catherine Curzon is an historian, author and lover of all things 18th Century. She has written extensively for websites and publications including BBC History Extra, All About History and Jane Austen’s Regency World. Catherine is a regular speaker at a range of venues across the UK.
