Freelance Fashion / Textiles Artist Opportunity

The Learning Team is looking to appoint an artist to work with two community groups in Ealing and Hounslow. The project will be inspired by Gunnersbury’s Georgian heritage and the collaborative work created in the workshops will go on display in the museum and be shown at the Museum Late in June. The creations will also be showcased in a fashion show celebrating sustainable and ethical fashion including upcycling and recycling using unusual and unexpected materials to create pieces inspired by the Georgian era. The successful candidate will be an experienced facilitator, able to inspire, design, collaborate and play with ideas around cultural identity.

    Work Experience

We are happy to offer short-term work experience placements for students at secondary school, college or university.

Our placements usually take place over one or two weeks and we aim to give students an overview of working at a busy heritage site. Whenever possible, we give students experience across Gunnersbury’s three major areas:
    • Learning – assisting with events and activities for a range of different audiences
    • Horticulture – supporting the Head Gardener with park-based tasks
    • Curatorial – working with the curator to look after the collections

Longer placements for college and university students working within a specific department can sometimes be accommodated.

Please email if you are interested in a work experience placement.
